Iyengar Yoga Mentored Guidance for Yoga Teachers

Work within the RIMYI Level 2 and, or Level 3 syllabi of asana and pranayama in Iyengar Yoga with the support of a senior Iyengar Yoga teacher.

Being mentored by a senior Iyengar Yoga teacher (Level 3 or above) is part of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Australia – IYA criteria. You are then eligible to apply and sit a Level 2 or Level 3 assessment.

Receptivity. We all need input and support at times...

I offer Yoga Teacher Development Seminars online and in different locations suitable for groups.

You can join the Mentored Yoga Teacher Development Program for ongoing support. Or personal one-on-one mentoring sessions available by appointment, either held in studio, or via Zoom.

See my Yoga Teacher Development options below. Or fill out my contact form and let’s discuss a way forward together.

Assessment Elegibility

According to IYA, there are two ways to gain assessment eligibility (see Teachers Certification Handbook, page 28).

  1. Verification indicates that the applicant has completed the minimum required hours of teacher development (20 hours per year) with a senior Iyengar Yoga teacher (Level 3 or above).
  2. A referral indicates that the applicant has been verified. And the referring teacher has worked closely with the applicant in their practice and teaching.

Sue Offers Two Mentoring Options:

Suitable for those wishing verification to sit the assessment.

Mentoring through occasional input in the form of personal yoga sessions where queries can be addressed through Q&A and practical work.

Weekly online class attendance and joining the periodic 3-hour online Yoga Teacher Development seminars are also advised.

For further details go to bookings or fill out my contact form and I’ll be in touch.

Suitable for those wishing verified referral to sit the assessment.

This option gives yoga teachers more support in preparing for level 2 or 3 IYA assessments.

The structure of the MYTD Program primarily consists of practical and experiential learning delivered via practice manuals and online contact.

Practice sequences are given for you to use in your personal practice and assist in clarifying the relevant syllabus of asana and pranayama. Scheduled contact time via Zoom is used for Q&A plus practical feedback.

Sue will also review assignments and offer feedback. Attendance at weekly online sessions is included in the MYTD program fees.
